Wishing You A Very Merry Christmas from SoCal!
Even though I've always celebrated Christmas in more of a secular way than in a religious one, I still appreciate the message of world peace and universal love it sends. Family togetherness and friendship, benevolence and selfless giving, fun and cheer. It symbolizes a time of hopefulness and the birth of new life. It conjures up memories of yesteryear, of childhood, and of love. It giving us another reason to take the time to appreciate the ones we love and spend time with them.
We give gifts, sing songs, and decorate our homes to spread the cheer. It warms our hearts in the midst of the bitter cold of winter and inspires us to love our neighbors.
Just as anything else in life, if you choose to celebrate Christmas (whatever the reason - for faith, for family, or for fun), it's up to you what you get out of it. It's up to you how deep or shallow the holiday is in your life. Whether it's about spirituality, or religion, or family, or gifts, or benevolence, or fun, or any combination the above; it's all up to you. And whatever way you've chosen to celebrate the holiday, so long as it enhances your life and the lives of those around you, so long as it spreads the basic theme of the holiday... it's the right way. Christmas isn't about judgement... it's about love; giving and receiving it. And that's the way that I choose to celebrate it!
So this holiday season I wish you all the love in the world, all the cheer, all the fun, and all the laughter.
Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year!
