Pumpkin Patches . Corn on the Cob . Petting Zoos . Candied Apples
'Tis the season to be.... oh... it's still fall?? Well then, how about participating in some good ol' fashion Fall time festivities?
Autumn just so happens to be my favorite season of the year, closely followed by Winter (figuratively speaking... and literally). Though even here in Southern California where the weather hasn't quite changed yet, you can feel it all around you. The shorter days, cooler nights, smell of roaring fires in the air, that sudden longing for a slice of warm apple or pumpkin pie! ...mmm... and of course FALL FESTIVALS!
Crafty vendors and organic produce, pony rides and a petting zoo, cornfield mazes and pumpkin painting, delicious treats and of course a huge pumpkin patch! These are all things thats make us feel like kids again and bring back memories of a simpler time.
Today me and my mom made our way over to the Cal Poly Pomona Pumpkin Festival for a day of fall merriment and pumpkin hunting. It was quite a hot day and there were tons of people, however it was still great fun checking out the local artsy vendors, searching for the perfect pumpkin... or eight, and eating some delicious festival foods.
All in all I think we made out pretty well....
This great festival is going on all weekend long by the way, so... if you haven't made it out there yet you should! http://www.csupomona.edu/~farmstore/pumpkin-festival.shtml My tip is to go as early as possible to avoid the crowds and heat!
